Cookie Policy

Last updated: 21 October 2026

1. Purpose and Scope

At İşcan Law, Mediation and Consultancy Office (the "Office"), we respect the privacy of visitors to our website at iscan.av.tr (the "Website"). This Cookie Policy has been prepared to inform visitors about the cookies and similar technologies (local storage, session storage and similar browser storage) used on the Website, in accordance with the Turkish Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 ("KVKK"), the Communiqué on the Procedures and Principles for Fulfilling the Obligation to Inform, and the Guide on Cookie Practices published by the Turkish Personal Data Protection Authority.

This policy applies to both the Turkish and English versions of the Website. For general information on the processing of your personal data, please see our KVKK Privacy Notice and Privacy Policy.

2. What Is a Cookie?

Cookies are small text files saved to your device through your browser when you visit a website. They are used to make the website work properly, keep it secure, remember your preferences and understand how the website is used.

Browser technologies that work in a similar way, such as local storage and session storage, also store information on your device. Unless stated otherwise, the term "cookie" in this policy also covers these similar technologies.

3. Types of Cookies

By duration:

  • Session cookies: deleted automatically when you close your browser or tab.
  • Persistent cookies: remain on your device until they expire or you delete them.

By party:

  • First-party cookies: set directly by the Website (through the iscan.av.tr domain).
  • Third-party cookies: set by another company that provides a service used on the Website.

By purpose:

  • Strictly necessary cookies: required for the Website's core functions and security; disabling them may prevent the Website from working properly.
  • Functional cookies: remember your preferences (e.g. that you dismissed the information notice).
  • Analytics / performance cookies: measure, in aggregate, how the Website is used.
  • Advertising / marketing cookies: used to show advertising based on users' interests. The Website does not use any advertising or marketing cookies.

4.3. Analytics (visit statistics)

The infrastructure on which the Website is hosted produces aggregate statistics such as the number of page views, pages visited, referring sites and device/browser type, using a first-party visit measurement tool that runs through the Website. These statistics are viewed only as aggregate reports, not aimed at identifying individuals, solely to assess the operation of the Website and the readership of its content; they are not used for advertising, profiling or retargeting and are not shared with third parties. Technical data such as IP addresses may be processed by the infrastructure provider during this measurement.

4.4. Third-party content: Map

The Google Maps content on the contact page is not loaded unless you click the "Show map" button. Until you click, no connection is made to Google and no cookies are set by Google. If you choose to load the map, Google LLC may set cookies on your device and process data such as your IP address under its own privacy policy. For details, please see the Google Privacy Policy (policies.google.com/privacy).

4.5. Technologies we do not use

  • No advertising, marketing or retargeting cookies.
  • No social media tracking pixels (e.g. Meta Pixel).
  • No Google Analytics, Google Ads or similar third-party advertising/measurement services.
  • Fonts are served from the Website's own server; no connection is made to third-party servers (e.g. Google Fonts) for fonts.

5. Legal Basis

The limited processing carried out through strictly necessary and functional cookies is based on Article 5(2)(f) KVKK — the Office's legitimate interest in providing the Website in a secure and functioning manner, provided that this does not harm the fundamental rights and freedoms of the data subject — and on such processing being necessary to provide the service you request (displaying the Website). Map content is loaded only on your explicit choice (by clicking).

The aggregate visit statistics provided by the hosting infrastructure are likewise processed under the same provision, based on the Office's legitimate interest in assessing the operation of the Website and the readership of its content. These statistics are assessed only as aggregate reports not aimed at identifying individuals and are not used for advertising, profiling or marketing.

6. How to Manage Cookies

You can view, delete or block cookies and site data through your browser settings. If you block strictly necessary cookies, parts of the Website may not work properly.

  • Apple Safari (macOS): Settings › Privacy › Manage Website Data
  • Apple Safari (iOS): Settings › Safari › Clear History and Website Data

Data in local storage and session storage can also be deleted using your browser's "clear site data" option. In private/incognito mode, this data is deleted automatically when the window is closed. If you do not wish to be included in visit statistics, you can use your browser's tracking protection features or content-blocking extensions.

7. Your Rights

Detailed information on your rights under Article 11 KVKK and how to exercise them is provided in the KVKK Privacy Notice. You may send questions about cookies to info@iscan.av.tr.

8. Changes

This Cookie Policy may be updated if the technologies used on the Website or the applicable legislation change. The current version takes effect on the date it is published on the Website. If there is a material change in the cookies used (e.g. the addition of analytics or third-party cookies), the necessary information and, where required by law, a consent mechanism will be added to the Website.
