Where Can Investors in Yalova Apply After an Investment Fund Liquidation? Local Institutions and Steps
Attorney Berk İşcan · 28 October 2026 · 3 min read

Investors in Yalova affected by investment fund liquidations often ask where and how each step is taken. This article summarises the general routes together with the relevant institutions and addresses in Yalova. It is general information, does not replace an assessment of your situation and predicts no result. For remedies, time limits and sample petitions, see our fund liquidation guide; for all our fund articles, see the fund liquidation information centre. For current information on the liquidation process and payments, always follow official announcements of the CMB (SPK), the Central Securities Depository (MKK) and the institutions concerned.
1. Your documents first
- Fund buy and sell orders, receipts and account statements,
- The bank, brokerage or application through which you bought the fund,
- The prospectus, investor information form, risk disclosure and investor profile forms,
- Correspondence, messages and call records concerning the guidance you received.
2. Which step is taken where in Yalova?
Public Prosecutor's Office (criminal complaint)
A criminal complaint can be filed with the Yalova Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. Its units are at the Yalova Courthouse. The main courthouse building is at İsmetpaşa Mahallesi, Hakim Sadettin Berki Sokak No:12 (phone: 0226 814 86 11); some Prosecutor's Office units are also in the additional service building opened in 2024. Confirm with the courthouse which unit is in which building before you go. Remember that for offences defined in the Capital Markets Law, an investigation depends on a written application by the CMB (Art. 115), and that the complaint period for offences requiring a complaint is six months (Turkish Penal Code Art. 73).
Mediation bureau
For disputes where mediation is a precondition, a mediator is approached before suing. The Yalova Courthouse has a mediation bureau. Whether mediation is mandatory depends on the nature of the relationship (consumer transactions: Law No. 6502 Art. 73/A; monetary commercial claims: Commercial Code Art. 5/A).
Consumer arbitration committee
Consumer disputes below the statutory monetary limit go to the consumer arbitration committee; committees operate at provincial and district level and applications can also be made through the Ministry of Trade's electronic system. The Yalova Provincial Directorate of Trade is at Bayraktepe Mahallesi, Şehit Ömer Faydalı Caddesi, Yüksel Sokak No:1/2, Merkez/Yalova (phone: 0226 812 38 83). Monetary limits are updated every year, so check the current amount in Ministry of Trade announcements. Whether a fund investment is a consumer transaction depends on the case; see our article on the competent court.
Yalova Bar Association
You can check whether a lawyer is registered through the Bar Roll on the bar's website. The Yalova Bar Association is at Fatih Cad. Asmaz Plaza No: 35/20, Yalova (phone: 0226 812 49 86). People without the means to pay may apply to the bar's legal aid office under the statutory conditions.
3. Complaint to the CMB
A complaint to the CMB is an administrative application; it may contribute to the exercise of supervisory and sanctioning powers but does not by itself secure compensation for individual loss and does not interrupt limitation periods. Check the CMB's official application channels on its website.
4. Points to watch
- Be careful of unofficial persons and sites that promise liquidation payments or refunds, or ask for fees, commissions or personal information; verify through official CMB, MKK and institutional channels.
- Time limits (60 days for administrative actions, six months for offences requiring a complaint, two and ten years for compensation) may vary by case; assess without delay.
- Write in your petitions only facts you can prove with documents.
5. Contact
Our office is in central Yalova at Cumhuriyet Caddesi No:9/7, Hatipoğlu İş Merkezi. If you would like your documents assessed, you can create an appointment or reach us via the contact page. Legal consultation is a paid service by law; see our payment page for information.
